The riders have suffered different mechanicals problems in the GP of Portugal
When the bad luck comes, normally the results don’t appear. That’s what have happened today to the Blusens Aprilia team in the last day of the GP of Portugal. Three of the team riders have suffered today different mechanicals problems at Estoril. Due to this, the expectations of the team have disappear, especially in the 125cc class.
Ricard Jové
, General Manager of the Spanish team, was a little bit disappointed after a hard day: “
All that happens today it’s been so bad because the riders haven’t had the opportunity to show what they really can do. But races are like this. Sometimes the riders do the mistakes and sometimes the engines go down. The best is that we are a joined team and if we continue working in the same direction, I’m sure that in China our luck will change
”.
Scott Redding and Efrén Vázquez, who were ready to fight for the best places of the 125cc class, have had different problems. The British rider has seen how the answer of his aprilia went down from the beginning and has ended in a delayed 21th position. His teammate Vàzquez at least managed to score one point by finishing 15th, in despite of his aprilias mechanicals problems.
In 250cc class the best has been Eugene Laverty (15º). The Irish managed to finish his first race of the season and taking one point. In despite, his teammate Russell Gómez has seen how the engine of his bike broke in the middle of the race.
Efrén Vázquez (125cc – 15º - 41’28”881 - 1’46"796)
Efrén has finished the race with different sensations: “We can say we have achieved our objective by taking one more point for the Championship. But anyway I Know that if my bike would have been ok, I would have battled for the Top 10. During all race I’ve seen how my bike wasn’t strong enough, I was unable to pass from 13.000 rpm. Furthermore in the last lap, when I reached the group to fight for the 11th position, the exhaust pipe of my bike has broken so luckily I didn’t lose the 15th position”.
Scott Redding (125cc – 21º - 42’04”076 - 1’47"578)
The British was obviously disappointed after the race: “I’ve had problems with the engine of my bike since the first corner, it wasn’t powerful enough. After some laps I went out of the track but I rejoined the race and from that moment my only wish was to finish the race and continue doing as much kilometers as I can in the World Championship”.
Dino Lombardi (125cc – 23º - 42’16”143 - 1’49"366)
“The most positive thing of this race is that I’ve been fighting with some of the riders that are going to be my rivals in the Spanish Championship. That is my real objective of this season.”
Eugene Laverty (250cc – 15° - 45’55”620 - 1’44"813)
Laverty has finished the race very satisfied: “we’ve done what we said yesterday. I had the sensation that we where in the right route and so has been. After two disastrous races, today I managed to join a good race. I’ve been fighting against my direct rivals and beat some of them, to have at the end a good result by taking my first point of the season.”
Russell Gómez (250cc – Not finished - 1’47"688)
“It’s been the worst for me not to finish the race. After my injury, I needed to complete as much kilometers as I can and that’s why my only objective was to finish the race. Now I can only think on the next race at China to continue improving.”
